What are your open hours?

Open play time slots are in 1.5 hour long increments. We always leave a half an hour between appointments to clean and reset the play space.

What if I am late or miss a reservation?

We understand, life happens.

However, because we are dedicated to our schedule. Play time will not be prorated if you only come for a half hour.

We appreciate if you show up at the scheduled start times. 

No call no show policy on reservations- no refund. If you call 24 hours full refund. Less than 24hrs you will be charged $5. We hope you understand! 

Can I come for a play date during open hours?

Play time slots are scheduled appointments with a cleaning/reset break in-between session.

Play time will not be pro-rated or carried over to the next session. It is best to show up on time for the desired time slot. 

What happens if I cannot make my reservation?

You can cancel your reservations with over 24 hour notice. Just call us and we’ll remove you from our reservations. If canceled under 24 hours, your card will be charged a $5 cancellation fee. We hope you understand.

How much does it cost?

$12 for 1.5 hours
$6 each additional child
Children 6 mo and under are free.

Is parking available?

There is typically plenty of street parking within a block or two. If there is an event downtown, it can get full. There is public parking lots located in Heritage Park (if it’s not being used for events) and next to Ostness Park, near the corner of Elm and Second Street.

What should we wear for our play time?

Be comfortable and ready to play! We are a no shoes, socks required establishment. This keeps the space clean but keeps those tootsies covered.

Do you offer childcare?

No, we do not offer childcare.

Our staff is available to help facilitate play, engage with your children and keep the space clean.

It is the caretaker’s responsibility to  supervise their child at all times.

Can other adults visit while my child is playing?

Adult guests without children are welcome to visit during your play time at no additional charge.

Do you accommodate children with special needs?

Of course! Our space is wheelchair accessible, and our Montessori/Waldorf play space is meant to offer creative play and a focus on hands on learning through play. If there’s anything we can do to facilitate a more welcoming environment for your little one, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

What is the age limit?

Our play space is designed for ages 6mo to 6 years. Children older than 6 are welcome to play. We just ask that they able to play calmly with the younger children and act as leader and follow the rules. (No running, no throwing, no rough housing.)

Are walk-ins allowed?

Yes, absolutely.

When we have openings, we welcome walk-ins.

Our play space time slots are set, so please plan to arrive at start times to make the most of your visit.

Can I bring my own food?

No outside food or drinks may be brought into the Play Cafe. We offer for purchase allergy-conscious snack foods and drinks along with complimentary coffee. (Water bottles and breast milk are allowed.)

Can we eat and drink?

Yes, of course. We offer great kid friendly snacks andcomplimentary coffee. We ask to keep food and beverages in the cafe area.

What are your cleaning policies?

Our 1.5-hour sessions are separated with a half hour to clean and reset the space. It is our goal to maintain a clean and safe environment.

We clean and disinfecting the area between each session using a hypochlorous cleaner, a simple ingredients and smart science to effectively kill germs that make people sick.

Our Hypochlorous cleaner is EPA-registered to kill 99.9% of viruses, bacteria, and fungi. This is as effective as heavy chemical disinfectants but without the risk of residue left behind on surfaces.

What is your sickness policy?

Keeping our guests and staff healthy is our top priority. We get it, kiddos get colds and bugs. Please do your part and stay home when you or your little one has signs of sickness (runny nose, cough, fever, etc.)

Is breasting feeding allowed?

Of course, Sisu Play Cafe is a breastfeeding friendly facility.

What is your diaper changing policy?

Please use one of the bathrooms to change any diapers. We’ve got extra supplies on hand, so if you run out of wipes, diapers, cream, etc. just ask and a member of our staff will be able to help. ❤️ For the sanitation of our other guests, please do not change diapers in the open play space.

What is the bathroom policy?

We have a shared bathroom that is near our back door. Our rear exit is shared with Domino’s pizza and their employees tend to hurriedly rush out of the back door. We’ve asked them to open doors carefully and be aware of their new pint-sized neighbors. However, as always, it is the caregiver’s responsibility to supervise their kiddos. Please accompany children to the bathrooms just to make sure they are safe.
